So, how many believe in Zombies??

I was just wondering what everyones reasons for being here on this forum was?
Its a loaded question, but I'll post the poll before I get into that.

Yeah, I think that its a "Could be" thing. It may or may not happen and if it does, it will probably be controled in some way before it spreads. I feel more like "something" will happen but who knows when and what. I have amways believe in being ready. I am Ex-Coast Guard and the Coast Guards motto is "Semper Paratus" which means "Always Ready" and I plan an being always ready.

I dont know if the government would be able to handle it...at the initial outbreak, it may be as acquirable as the common cold...then the biting would start.  Im sure you know more about defense than me, you being an ex-coast guard and all, but what if we dont get it in time?

Well, it all depends on how it happens. I can't imagine this stuff developing on its own. I work now at a nuke site, We get tons of radiation training. I don't think it could happen that way without developing slowly over time.  Governement? No way they will try to reanimate soldiers. just a dumb idea, they can draft. the most likely way is by pharmisudicals. just like in resident evil. I hadn't considered it before that movie. but cosmetics companies are already putting products out that bring "new life" to skin. I think it could realisticaly develop that way. but it would happen in a lab, or as a fluke on the street and woul dbe caught and destroyed or contained. passing through bites I doubt would transmit it then. more likly to pass through skin contact.

I'm not sure how realistic the possibilities of a zombie apocalypse are (at least like in the movies), but I think if you're prepared to survive zombies, you will be pretty well prepared for events that really are likely to happen: natural disasters, civil unrest, etc.

There were several times in 2008 that I was half expecting riots in the streets.  If the economy continues it's downward spiral, who knows what's going to happen?  What happens when hyperinflation sets in and it takes $1000 to buy a loaf of bread? 

It never hurts to expect zombies... even if the hordes chasing you aren't undead.

 I sadly replied that I used it for an excuse for a SHTF scenario, since there are many other things that could happen where survival skills and stockpiling will be useful. I do totally believe that government or pharmaceutical companies could create something very similar to zombies, parasites or symbiotic creatures could also be responsible. But mainly I live the Boy Scout motto: Be Prepared.

Sort of a tie between the First and Second choice.
I believe strongly that zombies are a real possibility, but at the same time I would use my Z-Day preparations if the bombs fell, or if robots beat zombies to the punch. One or the other is going to happen, the worlds going to hell in a hand basket fast, no matter what gets us first just be prepared.
