I think against Romero zombies where I live would be fine, there's several rooms on the first floor, and the second floor could easily be sealed off. One thing I need to pick up is a good small radio... that way I could listen to news broadcasts... I think that's a must have for any shelter.

I'm only 9 ( DO NOT LAUGH. ) So I don't have such a good defense for the place I'm going to stay. My friend's dad is building a little base thing either in his yard, or my yard. Or maybe even someplace just pretty close to me. I have a Machete, and a Shovel in my basement. I also have a Daisy Buck Model 105 .177 Cal 4.5MM Steel BB shooting gun so.. I might survive on my way to the gun shop and then the Base. We are going to paint on the front saying " Base X "

That's a great idea about the radio. We had some pretty severe snowstorms (for the area) this winter that knocked the power lines out for two days and once for almost a week and I didn't have a battery powered radio. If the zombie outbreak would have occurred while I had no communication, I would have been clueless. I got a dual powered radio with weatherband and a few extra setsa of batteries in case something like that happens again.

If money were no object.  I think one of these would make a great anti-zombie shelter.  A bit of modication might be considered, but you get the idea.

Currently I have no structure to call my own so MY plan is to stay on the move till I find a place to hide. I see some have these below ground bunkers/basement this is not a happy place to me most of these have a single point of access now this is good as it creates an excellent choke-point for defense it also makes escape nearly impossible so basically as soon as the zombie horde begin to pile up against the access door your spam in a can.

The zombies lay against your door, rotten to the point they are immobile and no longer a threat. You can't open the door because the corpses of the corpses are piled too thickly against it.
You make a good point against those types of shelters.
