I say f*** the odds. Even if there ARE a horde of zombies chasing the straggler, I can take enough of them down (I hope) to give the woman a fighting chance.

Well in this scenario, I shoot the zombie and ask her a few questions. If she's a cool person and passes my standardized test of coolness and is a fan of things like zombie survival, pirates and guns... or at least guns, then she can live. Then if she isn't, well I guess I'd shoot her knee and leave the zombies a tv dinner with extra snack inside.

Okay I only said that last part to interject dark humor, I may simply leave her depending on how things go. If she's survived this long odds are she's probably worth keeping around. I don't know about you guys but I don't know how to help a woman give birth. So maybe that's something we should all consider buying a book on to keep handy. On the same note I don't think cavemen had a book on giving birth and obviously something worked out. I would certainly strip search her for bites... which also leads me to conclude that a room next to the door of your zombie shelter should include a place to strip search people where they can't get through and compromise other individuals in the house.

Remind me to always tell strangers I like zombies and pirates and guns. No wait, I mean I hate zombies and evil pirates, but I still like ponies guns (very manly).

I'd have to help her out in the given scenario.  I couldn't give up on a fellow survivor all alone.  Who knows the Zombie might be the father of her child.  How horrible would that be for her; eaten by someone you love.  Nope, zombie goes down, and I care for her the best I can.  Maybe I'm a bit old school, but I could not live with myself letting something like that happen when I have the ability to do something about it.

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke)

Another factor is that if I'm alone, having someone around to talk to help will greatly keep me from going insane.  I know, I have to share food, but there will be another set of hands to help out in everyway. People are amazed how much humans need interaction with other humans.  Sure you can go on for a while, but it will break your spirit eventually.  10 years being alone in a world full of shambling undead?  Why bother fighting the good fight right?  She would give me a reason to go on.  I'm not talking about love, or lust.  The fact that she is a fellow survivor would be enough.

"While there's life, there's hope."
Cicero (106 BC - 43 BC)

I would like to think that as part of your survival kit would at least thick medical book.  Usually they all have plans for the delivery of a baby.  I was an EMT, So I might have a bit more than some. That is no reason to give up on someone.  I wont condemn anyone for doing what they do.  Who knows what we would actually do until that problem comes up.  Smiley
