Question: K. I've got an italian rapier that I've forged about a year ago that I'm looking for names for. I've had a few ideas, but nothing stuck. I'll toss the names into the various options here, but feel free to post and suggest.
Glithonel (means something along the lines of "Sword belonging to a master" in a language my brothers and I made. - 1 (33.3%)
Zathale (pronounced Za-Tha-lay, was my name in said language shared between my brothers and I) - 1 (33.3%)
Gambit's Folly (just to match the other) - 1 (33.3%)

Overkill, if you've got an idea, regardless of how silly, go for it.

The giggling was from an inside joke a buddy and I had threatened to name our sword in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" type movie. Without the whole concept it wouldn't make sense and all in all it was pretty silly.

But anyway, this sword doesn't deserve the name folly, since I believe you stated in another post  it was your favorite of your 2 handmade ones (correct me if I'm wrong)
I also didn't like the idea of naming the sword after yourself, kinda like Marylin Manson, is it the guy or the band? Zathale, is that that dude or his sword? Grin
My pick was Glithonel. It sounds cool and seems to fit. You are a master of martial arts and swordmaking, and this particular sword in fact owes its very existence to you. You could always just not name it as well, sooner or later it's own name will come to it, unless you're just one of those guys that call everything "Betsy" Cheesy

I've seen Holy Grail. Which reference?

K. Glithonel it is then. Unless anyone else has a better idea.

Nothing in particular, just a senseless comedy with knights in the middle ages. We usually come up with 6 movie ideas or get rich quick schemes a week, that was just one of them.

That reminds me of a muppet joke. "Doctor Bob, you've given this hospital a bad name". "You're right. Fred is a terrible name for a hospital".
