How About a Contest?

Alright guys, We've been discussing having a contest here to help get word out.

This is the basic Idea, tell me how you guys feel about it, and if you might participate:

We would ask you guys to invite like minded people to the board here.

Here's how it would work:

You invite people to the board, if they sign up and introduce themselves on the introduction board, you get 1 point (they do need to mention that you (your Forum name) invited them so we can track it) and if they post at least 5 more posts in their first week here, you get 1 extra point. If by the end of the contest they've posted 10 or more posts, you get 1 more point.

So, you can get up to 3 points per invite.

I will start a locked thread and keep a running tally of everyone's points daily (or at least semi-daily)

I'm thinking that maybe we'd run the contest for a month, with weekly prizes, and a grand prize.

The person who gets the most points in a week (running 12:00 am e.s.t. Monday to Sunday 11:59 pm e.s.t.) would get a custom NoZombies T-shirt (that can't be bought anywhere, not even our official meta-cafe store) With red lettering.

The person with the most points at the end of the month would receive a larger prize, which will be determined by halfway through the contest.

Very cool, I'll be sending out an Email to board members this week with the announcement of the contest, you guys can get a head start, and all the points you accrue this week will count towards next weeks prize (since this isn't a full week of contest)

I've got some ideas on the bigger prize... but I'm not gonna make the announcement yet, but let me say, If you guys are on this board... you'll probably want the prize

I'll be finalizing the rules for the contest over the next few days, and I'll send out an email to all the forum members with instructions.

The game will officially start next week (after all of the prizes are here and the rues are finalized) but If you guys invite people this week they will count towards your overall count of members brought in, and will also count towards next week's Tally.
