So, the basic premise of this section seems to be that zombies hate light. Since when? Every type of zombie I've ever heard of has absolutely nothing against light.

I usually assume, when talking about zombies, that we're talking about you're basic Romero zombies, the same sort that's found in WWZ. It has become the standard of the genre. Now, the very early Romero zombies were afraid of fire, but not light. The later ones weren't even afraid of fire.

There's absolutely nothing in zombie fiction to suggest that zombies are afraid of light.

So you're being sarcastic about zombie hating light? That's rather reassuring.

And, not to sound critical, but sarcasm doesn't work very well online, as a general rule. You can use it, but you can't get touchy when someone doesn't catch it.

Eh, you're probably right... should have made the sarcasm more clear.

The purpose of this board is to discuss lights and lighting, whether the Zombies are afraid of the light or not, I know a lot of people who get a little jumpy in the dark

True. Ideally I would try not to be out in the dark, since it gives you a psychological disadvantage. But you're absolutely right that you need a good flashlight, even just for inside.

Being the good Eagle Scout that I am, I have a very maglight with an electronic switch and a much stronger LED light, which in addition to being much brighter uses about a third of the battery power.. It's a very nice flashlight, very bright, adjustable beam, easy to click on and off. Plus it's small and easy to carry on my belt. I have even, on occasion, taped it to a gun and used it as a combat light.

Just my personal opinion, of course, but I've had my light for several years, and I love it. I've used it for everything from backpacking to power outages. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Indeed, the LED maglites are good ones for sure... I'm something of a flash-aholic myself...

I think I'll start a thread where we can talk about all the lights we all own.

I don't really think zombies hate light... i just think they prefer the dark... it is easier and better to hunt at night...(you just have to kinda think like the enemy)

Zombies don't think, they just attack. Like Republicans... Never mind.

Zombies don't need light.  I guess they have 'other' senses when hunting the living down.  Would your eyes work after they got all moldy and wormy after a few months?  If that was the case I'd hole in a bunker for a few months over the summer and come out killing off zombies in pretty short order.

We however do need the light.  I don't plan on doing much at night, but hiding.  Not only is it psychological, but makes sense.  We do not have great night vision, they seem to not be bothered by it at all.
