Okay, this honestly wasn't put together in preparation for the Zombie invasion, but other than perhaps a few small modifications, this should still function admirably...

If you where to open my first aid kit, you would find:

20 cloth bandaids in a small ziplock

10 each Aspirin, Tylenol and Ibuprofen tablets

10 caffeine tablets (noDoze or similar)

sterile gauze

medical tape

2 unlubricated condoms

4 rubber bands

small folding scissors

4 yards of string (not thread, cotton string, 3 strand)

Snake bite kit

signal mirror (not sure exactly how that ended up in there, but it fits in the little tin so well...)

insect repellent

4 alcohol swabs

small bottle of iodine

bactine (has lidocaine, wich is a local anesthetic)

neosporin

I think that's about it, but I'll have to check tomorrow... I probably need to update it a little bit now anyways (I change out all of the pills every 4 months, that way when I need the kit, everything will still be good)

I have a few first aid kits, some small ones that only contain
Gauze pads
1 Roll sterile gauze
Tape
Alchohol pads
Band aids
2 pairs latex gloves
These are in the small military compass pouches, I also have a couple of larger ones that are made up of

2 and 4 inch gauze pads
Non stick gauze pads
Sutures (4-0 silk)
Scizors
Kelly's forceps
Tweezers
Cloth medical tape
Non stick silicone tape
2 rolls gauze
Small bar of soap (the kind you swipe from hotels)
Q-tips
Neosporin
3 or 4 pairs of latex gloves
Ace bandage for sprains and such
A large triangular bandage
I'll have to find one and see if that's it. I need to make up a few more to leave in cars, at work, etc.

Call me a newbie, but what use would the condoms have? (Besides storing liquids of some form...)

Also, even guys have a use for tampons and pads in their first aid kits; they're very absorbent.

Very good point about the tampons and pads... hadn't thought of that.

The condoms come in handy for lots of things, everything from putting it on over a bandaged cut finger to keep it dry, to using over the muzzle of a rifle out in the rain to keep water out of the barrel, to being stretched and used as a tourniquet if something really bad happens.

I've also got a little thing that uses the condoms to make something like a slingshot, not much good for hunting, but it could be pretty decent entertainment around the camp to stave off the boredom that could drive you crazy...

I'd probably put 10-15 sterile gauze pads, neosporin, caffeine pills, ace bandages, rubbing alcohol, and the condoms sound pretty useful.

I'm wholly unprepared skill wise. Half of what you guys mention, I have no idea what I'd use it for. I carry two bandaids, and tape. That's IT.

I forgot to mention, in my bugout bag, there's also a medical field guide, you couldn't do surgery with it, but you could sew stitches or set a bone, patch up a bad wound, etc.

It might be a good thing to have available to people.. I'll see if I have a copy that I could distribute.

it'll be a few days to dig up, if I even still have the digital copy anymore, but I'll see what I can come up with. I think it'd be a good thing for most people to have!

A medical guide may very well be usefull. In the sense of the other message i posted my reasons would be one, lubricated are easier to put on and make things feel a lot smoother. About the pot, its really kind of an every pain reliever, it helps with stress and after a long day of zombie hunting there is nothing better thatn sittin on your couch and smoking one to the head.PWN!!!

First let me say, I'm not anti pot by any means.  I've smoked plenty of it in the past, and probably wouldn't turn it down if it were passed to me now.

During the zombie apocalypse, however, I'm afraid I'd have to just say no.  As I get older, that stuff just ends up making me paranoid and dulling my senses... 2 things i'd rather not have to deal with on Z day.

As a pain reliever, it may be decent in an edible form for stuff like a stiff back or leg cramps (after walking all day and sleeping in uncomfortable positions).
