Might as well lead off with the best advice ever.

My Ol' Pappy used to say "It's better to make a good run than a bad stand".

My Ol' Pappy used to say "Ain't no such thing as a fair fight".

remember that Patience is a verchew

greed is the root of all evils

jealousy Leeds to envy, envy Leeds to hate, hate Leeds to suffering

do the best you can with what you can  and what you have

do it right the first time and there won't be a second

show respect get respect and if they disrespect you make them respect you

if at first you don't succeed try try again

practise what you preach

do not preach on def ears

with age brings wisdom but only to the ones who care to listen

calm mind makes beater decisions

don't for get to breathy

and it won't ever heal if you don't stop picking at it

if she ant happy you ant happy

and son you can be right or you can happy

do on to others as you wish done on to your self

mural is everything

Give them nothing but take from them everything !!!

 don't play with it y'all go blind,lol

Got a couple more, can't remember if they were from my Ol' Pappy, but here they are.

A lock will only keep an honest man honest. (Scoutmaster, a very wise and kind man)

"Believe half of what you see, a quarter of what you read and none of what you hear" (Scoutmaster)

"Win if you can, lose if you must, but always cheat"

"You can't fix stupid" (Ron White).

I think of at least ten a day, and forget when I sit own in front of the computer.

Never play cowboy in a room full of Indians.

Never spit into the wind on a motorcycle.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

PUT THAT KNIFE DOWN. (s'true. Dad used to say that one alot.)

Never waste a good line on a bad woman.

When someone asks you "How did you do that?" The answer is always "With style".

And finally,

When demons and devils are haunting your heels, then by golly, take off your wife's shoes.

Some of these are really great!

My favorite thing my father ever told me:

"If at first you don't succeed, you probably need a bigger hammer"

One of my favorite sayings wasn't my Ol' Pappy, but one of a friends Grandmother, whenever he got hurt doing something stupid she would retort:
"you'll learn better next time"
I think she meant he would know not to make the same mistake again, but I'm still not sure.
