Outbreak of the Undying

You are at home when you receive news that your town is being quarantined. Nothing serious, the reports are all labelled precautionary, and aren't "really" a true quarantine. Just to be safe the area is going to be locked down. More news that actually you might want to worry. Hospitals are filling up. Even reports of bizarre attacks and some other insane "reactions" to the quarantine.

All roads are sealed and of course deadly force is authorized to keep it that way. No one in, no one out. The official news says that people are to stay indoors and wait for removal to safer locations. Response teams are set to go door to door and check for healthy people and get them out, before any other efforts are taken.

In your gut you know the government, and you know what zombie apocalypse means. It is a mental tightrope you are now on. Gradually as you stand there taking the reality in, you begin to hear the world outside those walls come alive. It is noisier. Maybe it is just chemicals or some kind of heightened sense thing because you are a little spooked, but it sounds like it is getting crazy outside.

You turn off the lights. Suddenly another update from the official source. It says to avoid the hospitals, and simply stay indoors. They will come and get you. That is when you hear the first screams from outside the walls. They are faint, but you definately hear em cause your hairs are standing on end.

Keep in mind that you have a gut feeling since you heard the door to door thing, that they were gonna roast or obliterate the infected that remained after such removal. After hearing the screams outside, you aren't so sure they are gonna bother anymore, and if so, you are caught with reality in that survival has just become a lot harder. Should you survive the chaos and carnage, it all could be in vain as they send a nice small nuke or some other means of destroying the entire area and all infected and uninfected life in the area.

Thankfully all of this has just been you thinking, so it actually is rather early in the game, but now the stakes are laid out. What do you do?

 To put this as nicely as possible, the whole government control of quarantine and such really ?!$$&$ me off. I leave everbody alone and expect to be left alone. "Deadly Force Authorized" has always sounded like a declaration of war to me. Crowded places and especially hospitals are places to avoid in emergencies unless truly life or death (i.e. potentally fatally wounded). Waiting around to be executed in my own home doesn't sound too good either nor does trying to fight. I would take the pacifist/survivalist way and gather what gear, food and water I need and head for the hills. I could scout the surrounding towns and see if whatever is happening here is happening there and try to wait it out and keep a low profile to avoid detection.

I would grab my gear, go out there, and start threatening to lop some heads unless I was taken out of there. And if they decide to open fire, so what? Better dead, then in with the Zeds

This sux... I think i would probably pack a back of all my crap and get my guns and armor plating... then walk out and pop off a few heads and try to find a place to get through the quarintine area... if i can't i could possibly try to snatch a rocket launcher or use a grenade to catch some attention to that area while i sneak out the quarintine border... or i could dig out a tunnel (even though that may take me a month)

I don't know, i wouldn't dig a tunnel. I would probably just grab my gear and get outta there at the first sign of quarentine. If im caught, kill em and run.

i would strap a bomb to my chest and run in there and say if you dont let my through im going to blow you all up. and if that fails at least i killed some of them.
