Everyone thinks I'm wrong, but I don't really think she's all that hot, and the reason you'll think I'm insane is because I think she's too skinny. I just thought having "Alice" or "Violet" along with Ving Rhames, who's a badass in whatever movie he's in, would insure my survival.

Guns in IL is a rough issue, you cant even buy .22cal or hunting shotgun ammo without a firearms owner identification card which takes 30 days to get.  Immediately try to begin making your way home.  Rent a truck or larger car and get moving ASAP.  Stay off the plane, get an infected on board and its a long locked smorgasborg for the zombies and if your pilot gets nailed your done for sure, plus no telling what the outbreak level is in the city your landing in.  Get back to your supplies immediately.  Rent the car, hit a remote gas station, get a good atlas and some supplies like food, water and such and get trucking.  you can cross the country in 2 days if the outbreak doesnt get overly bad quick, if it does you could probably make it in about just under a week sticking to back highways and small towns.

I don't think I would get on a plane for two reasons. Reason one is that I don't know what kind of zombies these are, and by that I mean.. Is the initial zombie virus airborne or is it some mutated form of virus that already exists? I wouldn't want to be in an airport if it was airborne, too many people, that I could be receiving it from.

Reason number two is that (like in reason one) airports are generally pretty crowded places.  While their are security guards there, I have a feeling that if even one zombie managed to get in there and bite one person.. it would turn to hell pretty quick. The entire airport could be infected in a matter of a few hours which is generally the amount of time it takes to get in/out of the airport these days. Not to mention if you're caught on a plane when the zombies first get in to the airport.

Large population centers such as Chicago, Detroit, New York, and Las Angeles would be wiped out the fastest due to population density. So much like it was said above, you get the hell out of Dodge.

If the "get out of the city" option isn't available due to quarantine or some other stupid reason, I would have to barricade myself somewhere I know it will be hard for the legions of the undead to get, or somewhere that is easily defended. 

So yeah. That's my two cents
