Heres a good one i just came up with.
You'r home alone in the middle of the night trying to get some sleep and someone knocks on your door you get up and half assedly stumble to the door you peek through the peep hole and see someone standing there as it is night you cannot easily see there face as you open the door the person knocks you to the ground and holds you down you only then notice that there face is caked with blood and chunks of there face are missing how you would you get out of this situation

I never answer the door without a club. Take the thing's head off, and bolt the door shut

I don't sleep 'til daylight, and I normally don't open the door unless someone identifies themselves. But being woken up and groggy I'm liable to stumble to the door and open it not knowing what's outside and not have anything in my hand to defend myself.
After being rushed and knocked to the ground my first objective would be to sweep either arm to the inside to knock the zombie off balance as I pushed upward on the opposite shoulder and rolled my body towards the arm I pulled in.(it sounds more complicated than it is) I don't assume a zombie would have the awareness or abilities to have me in a very strong guard, so passing it and getting the mount should not be too hard. Once I have mount position I can use my body weight to pin it down as I look around for a bludgeon or sharp object to dispatch the creature.

While I don't sleep with weapons, I have 2 loaded pistols nearby and ready. 1 for me, and 1 for wifey. While my Kimber is stored in condition 3 for safety reasons, I always carry it in condition 1. It would be that way, and in the low ready postion before I even thought about answering a door in the middle of the night! Hence the whole condition1kimber thing. If you want to know what that means, google Jeff Cooper, then read and heed. I'll do anything in my power to ensure I don't end up in a hand to hand situation, zombies or no zombies.

Assuming we all gathered, I'd cover you. Hell, given the right weapon, and the right area, I could cover the entire group. I'd need a shield, and really, any one handed weapon. And it would have to be a big shield. We're talking Roman scutum, full sized. Tower shields. Bottleneck em, and I could cover us as long as my arms held.
