What are the pistols? That's a broad definition.

I voted for the AK, but in hindsight maybe I should have picked the pistols. I mean if it's a 1911, and an AR-15 pistol I would easily take both of those, and they're both considered handguns. Any moron could shoulder fire an AR pistol that has a buffer tube (piston AR pistols don't). So you would have a quasi rifle, just don't let the ATF catching you shoulder one or they might complain. But since it's a functioning part of the receiver it's not considered a stock, and since it's born as a pistol, it remains a pistol. Another interesting note is by law you could turn an AR-15 pistol into a rifle if you attached a long enough upper receiver to it (16" barrel), and added a stock. A pistol can become a rifle but legally a rifle cannot become a pistol.

But all in all I voted for the AK, because granted you have a fair amount of spare magazines, it's reliable with virtually no maintenance what so ever.

 I chose the AK on the basis of I think it's the best overall AZW of the bunch. I came close to choosing the 2 pistols since you would have a spare in case one stopped functioning, but the AK pattern rifles are considered by many to be the most reliable guns in the world. I also came close to choosing the sword since it never needs reloading and doesn't run out of ammo, or the knife since it would be the better all around survival tool, but AK's have bayonets right, so I don't need them . The shotgun would weigh about the same as an AK with heavier ammo that takes up more space, I didn't choose it simply because it would be more cumbersome to carry extra ammunition.

I chose the 2 pistol option, my experience with the AK47 type of weapons has been less then stellar +4 inch groups at 25yds means a +16inch group at 100yds I've shot better groups with a pistols at that distance.

 I've done a bit better than 4 inches at 25 yards with my WASR-10, but I do agree the AK pattern rifles do lack a lot in the accuracy department.
 The poll/OP doesn't mention what types of pistols, that may have swayed my decision. Maybe it should have read "High Capacity Semi Automatic Carbine" so it would have been more in line with the other choices (2 pistols, shotgun).
