Right. I think it's time we all consolidated our knowledge of how to make things into weapons. Things that don't go boom are ok too. Improvised cannons, spears, various items that would make good clubs, that sort of thing. Ditto improvised explosives.

What you gotta do is get into a building with, say, 3 stories.  Take an old coffee can (the plastic melts easily) then fill it about halfway with bits of metal (forks, knives, nails) and fill the rest with gasOline.  Cut a small hole in the top, then a oily rag, (cram the rag iin there so gas dont spill out)  light rag and chuck rally fast.   Cool BOOM.

I have a few ideas for improvised weapons...
1: A spear is a simple weapon wood metal my idea of a perfect improvised spear is a knife fixed to the end of a long piece of wood such as a broomhandle
2: I have actually made an electric fence before a good defence weapon just a car battery with a few jumper cables the batteries might be simple enough to find car dealerships junkyards those areas
3: I created a simple type of taser before i used a dart gun and rigged it with batteries and loaded metal darts instead of the plastic ones it came with and although it was difficult i did get the batteries to charge the darts before it came out ID remember how sorry hope it helps though

You can also sharpen and heat the tip of a stick (heating it hardens the wood). Just a 5 or 6 foot staff of wood or bamboo would make a decent weapon as well. Lots of tools like shovels, axes, crowbars, picks, mattocks, hammers, screwdrivers and even building materials like 2x4s, re-bar and roof bolts could be used.

I'm personally fond of the ol' chair to the head trick myself. It's a one shot pony, but it works.

If it's wood, when it breaks you have plenty of stakes handy which could be used for zombies as well as vampires. Looking around the room it's hard to find objects that would be tough enough for improvised AZW's, maybe I could tie my steel toed boots together and make a set of nunchucks. Grin

I wear a size 16EEEE, I don't know if I'm strong enough to swing them.

A sack full of chihuahuas would be pretty good.  Cheesy

I don't know anything about explosives, other than to leave them alone since I don't know what I'm doing.

The more I look around the house the harder it is to find something tough enough for more than 1 hit, but anything light enough to be picked up and thrown or swung like a club would be good for at least 1 hit.

Here's one that you might have to make ahead of time. Jellied gasoline and a bit of natural rubber. Toss them into a bottle, and cork it FAST. And voila. One rag-less Molotov cocktail. Ignites on contact with oxygen.
