Gun Crazy

 I went to Wal-Mart yesterday (something I rarely do) to buy some 22 Long Rifle ammo and the shelves were almost completely bare, and what remained was extremely marked up. The last time I had been in there was about 3 months ago, and probably over a year since I'd bought ammo. One of the guys I talked to said it was because Obama was sworn in everybody was afraid he was going to ban all arms and ammunition. 2 of the 6 pawnshops I usually visit seem to have had a run on guns as well but not so much on ammo, as a matter of fact none of the pawnshops or gun stores have had the same run on ammo, and some of them have prices better than Wal-Mart (and usually better quality and selection). Do you think this is political or some other reason? Do you agree with doing this? Do you think it's limited to certain "types" of people?

I think this a wal-mart thing, my understanding is that they are planning to sell less firearms and ammo in  the near future, probably gonna stop selling altogether.

Those are just rumors, but they're from a source that's usually pretty reliable....

He knows he can not go ofter our protected right to own guns, so he goes after the ammunition. its scary how clever, and yet twisted that concept is. what will be next?

And its not just walmart, we had a gun show here a few weeks back and ammo was hard to come by even there.

 Sounds about like every other president we've had. I propose a boycott on ammo and reloading supplies until the price comes down, any suggestions on what price point we wait on?

if there's a "gun grab" or even a huge ammo tax while we're already this close to civil unrest, i predict open revolution.  there are already a few states that seem to be on the verge of seceding over this bailout funny business.

 I hate to say it OldNick, but I think you're right. I don't know about full fledged, all out open revolution, (altough it would be a distinct possibility), I kinda sense people are a bit "on edge" about almost EVERTHING nowadays. The zombies are enough to worry about without civil unrest or a second civil war to worry about.

Who knows guys. I live in Mississippi and there are quite a few racists around here, me excluded im no racist, but like i was saying, these racists keep to the views of their forefathers and they hate African Americans. So, Obama is on the top of their list for assassination. I think it is wrong to think such things but now i don't know. I don't want someone dead, just kicked out you know? This gun ban thing is going to kill this country and us with it. Someone has to do something, but what?

 That's what scares me more than anything. Congress has to pass any law on firearms, Obama can push something, but not pass it all by himself. It worries me that some idiot will try to assassinate him and everyone will get caught up in an anti-gun fury and pass legislation, like what happened with Kennedy. He may be anti-gun (and therefore anti-zombie preparedness), but I've not heard anything in the news that he wants to ban anything yet ( as of taking office, links would be appreciated if I'm wrong). I truly think this is all the gun rags and people in the gun industry crying wolf to spark paranoia and send people on a shooping spree. Metal prices have been falling and the only way to keep prices high is to say that demand has gotten high as well. I hate to say it, but I think most of it is racism, racism REALLY being FEAR of other races, not hatred. All these racists are afraid of having a mixed race president and spread their fear and lies to everyone else. I've probably heard the "N" word more in the last few months than in my whole life.
 I'm sorry if I steeped on anyone's toes in my rant, but those are my opinions and beliefs, feel free to express yours, as you may even sway mine.

I agree 100% bro. This guy hasn't exactly said anything YET but who knows when the doom saying will strike? Maybe my mom is right, maybe the world will be falling into chaos soon. Not just from the President (she didn't vote this election) but from the paranoia and rebelliousness of the people.

 Yeah, don't think I'm taking up for BHO either (although I did like the way he handled the bank execs giving themselves "bonuses" after the bailout). He IS anti gun, he just hasn't done anything YET. He flip flopped on the D.C. ban which leads me to believe he won't really support anything unpopular. If he urges a bill you don't like, write him and your state representatives about it, voting age or not, they like to cater to future voters too.

he had it one his web site, the top five gun issues he was going after. then after the word got out to the gun rights people and he pulled the page. He wants to close the "gun show loop whole" which we all know is BS. he wants to reenact the gun ban. he wants to register gun owners. tax ammo. and I can't remember the last one, but do a quick search. many people did and image save on the page Osama had up and have it posted. It not racism either. at least not for me. But every time you attack Obamas Politics and policies, you get labeled a racist. its because they can not defend him. they follow like ignorant sheep. he is giving money to people to create jobs.... are you going to create jobs with you $58 -$63 a month? I know I am not. so tell me how that creates jobs?? He is taxing the crap out of people who have the money and power to create jobs then offering a tax cut is they create jobs. how does that work. basically he is just not going to tax those people as much, if they can create jobs after being taxed well. but is you realize what he is doing... your a racist...
