I was watching some films, a little marathon, and I have now added a standard claw hammer, box of nails, not a big one, just a pouch of good sized nails, and a power drill. Both can double as a weapon, hammer makes a good crack in the skull, and the drill if put together and ready to go and charged can also induce some cranial devastation. The reason I thought these things were as important as canteens and matches, was the scenes, and there were many, when barricading and building was required. The hammer and drill aren't too much extra weight, they can be thrown in the duffle, but if you have em, I think they can pay off in spades, should you ever need them. And in any type of situation where you are screwed, they could be very helpful, zombie or just natural disaster or something like that.

Any other tools that should be thought of? The multitool is alright, but with the hammer and drill at your side, you add a dimension of importance. Who else is gonna nail those planks across the door, or drill that table up across the window?

Don't forget the screws for the drill. Screws hold a lot better than nails, that's why AK mentioned the drill I suppose. Some type of screwdriver with interchangeable bits would be valuable, with a good ratcheting one worth its weight in gold. The drill would work, but something hand powered would save electricity. A crowbar of some type is high on the list. Good for removing nails, opening locked doors, it can be used as a hammer, but not quite as effective at driving a nail, "opening" a window, club for defense.
